The cooler has a cooling body (1) with a cooling fluid distribution device, a coolant collector (3) and coolant entry and exit openings. The cooler body has a recess (6), which, together with a second wall surface (9), forms a channel type cooling gap (8) through which coolant flows. The cooling gap is 0.1-1 mm high. The length of the cooling gap is 20-200 times its height.
