For the cooling of the vanes (15), in a gas turbine assembly, part of the raw gas passing through the compressor (1) flows through a dust separator (24,24') where floating particles are separated by centrifugal forces to give a clean gas (30). The clean gas (30) is directed to the interior of the vanes (15) at least at the first turbine wheel. The separated gas portion (31), which carries floating particles, is returned to the cooling air zone (7) surrounding the combustion chamber (2). An axial cyclone is used as the dust separator (24,24').
