The light coupling device uses a parabolic mirror (Sp) for deflecting light received from the output face of one optical fibre (L1) onto the light input face of a second optical fibre (L2), with simultaneous focussing of the deflected light. The first optical fibre is positioned adjacent the focus of the parabolic mirror, the second optical fibre aligned with the mirror symmetry axis at a distance determined by the deflection angle and the focal width of the mirror.
