The turbine shell (13) reaches radially right into the area of the axial bearings (37,53) and is here stiffened (39) by angularly spaced bulges (43) in the shell wall (41), the bulges forming channels (44) which join the flow connection (73) and so lead into the converter circuit. The stiffeners (39) lead from shell diameter in the radial inner part of the axial bearings to a shell diameter outside this part. The shell lies with the annular turbine hub (19) and the bearing surface (47) is formed by a bend (49) in the radially inside end (45) of the shell, in the axial direction.
