Manufacture of tiny pharmaceutical pellets from difficult viscoelastic polymer mass commences with annular extrusion from trumpet nozzle followed by stamping of flat sheet produced, in equipment with small footprint. The dough-like mass is extruded in flat form, from which the pellets (24) are stamped-out. An Independent claim is included for corresponding equipment carrying out the stamping. Preferred features: Stamped particles are cooled immediately by a gaseous medium. A jet of the gas blasts pellets away from the stamping location. Perforated residual sheet mass (28) is returned for re-extrusion. The mass is extruded in ring shape, from which the particles are stamped. The mass is forced through a hollow, trumpet-shaped body, to be stamped into pellets by stamping rods around it. The stamping action is downward.
