In hydrophilic, flexible polyurethane foam, which can be prepared by reacting polyisocyanate(s) (I) with compound(s) (II) containing = 2 isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms, reaction is carried out in the presence of sodium 2-((2-aminoethyl)amino)ethanesulfonate (III) and/or ethoxylated methyldiglycol (IV). An Independent claim is also included for the production of the foam by reacting (I) and (II) in the presence of (III) and/or (IV).
