A nonlinear crystal (6) fitted inside a cavity and behind a laser crystal (5) doubles in frequency according to type II. An optical lambda /8 plate quartz element (7) within a cavity fitted in front of, or behind, the nonlinear crystal turns the polarizing direction of each linear polarized portion of fundamental wavelength light on the crystal's axis by 45 deg during double passage through it.
