The apparatus to condense a drawn sliver has a conveyor belt (22) which is powered by a roller (4) of the final paired rollers (2) of the drawing unit, to be pressed against the sliding surface (16), with a suction slit (21), by a clamping roller (24). The conveyor belt (22) is passed round a powered lower roller (4), of the final roller pair (2) at the drawing unit. The conveyor belt (22) drives the clamping roller (24). The conveyor (22) is a woven belt.
