The press has a stamp holder with central bore. The bore (14) is surrounded by three or more hydraulic chambers. The chambers reduce the bore wall over the length of a chamber, to a radially elastically deformable web (46,48,50), which acts as a hydraulically adjustable membrane. Two neighboring chambers (26,28) have a circular arc length of approx. 90 deg , for relative adjustment in two directions at right angles to each other, the third chamber (30) is for clamping of the press ram.
