Aqueous copolymerizate dispersions having carboxylic acid anhydride groups useful as adhesives, fillers, and plasters obtained by copolymerization of unsaturated monomers and unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydrides

Aqueous copolymerizate dispersions are obtained by copolymerization of a mixture of olefinically unsaturated monomer and at least one 4-8C unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride in aqueous emulsion to a copolymerizate having carboxylic acid anhydride groups, and reaction of these with at least one low molecular organic compound with an amino-, hydroxyl-, and/or mercapto group. Aqueous copolymerizate dispersions are obtained by copolymerization of a mixture of: (a) at least one olefinically unsaturated monomer which forms a homopolymerizate of glass transition temperature of less than 0 deg C; (b) at least one monomer which forms a homopolymerizate of glass transition temperature greater than 0 deg C; and (c) at least one 4-8C unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride in aqueous emulsion to a copolymerizate having carboxylic acid anhydride groups, and reaction of these with at least one low molecular organic compound with an amino-, hydroxyl-, and/or mercapto group. Independent claims are included for: (1) a copolymerizate obtained as above; (2) a copolymerizate dispersion obtained as above.
