The present invention relates to a drill for the production of bore holes in hollow chamber with a lime sandstones building blocks and a drill bit-like locating means (6) for insertion into the drill chuck (7) of a percussion drilling machine (8) having a drill shank (2). In order to achieve a damped impact action for the avoidance of a breakage of the webs of the cavity bricks as it is proposed that the gauge length of the drill bit-like locating means (6) of the drill (1) at least by the axial path of the firing pin (12), to shorten the hammer drill machine. Furthermore, in the distance from the rear end (11) of the drill (1) on the drill bit-like locating means (6) a rubber ring (14) is disposed, which conveys the drill shank (2) with respect to the drill chuck (7) seals.
