The method allows signalisation of an application between at least 2 subscribers (1,4) of a digital communication network via an application identification (UAID). provided by a binary word of fixed length, which is transmitted in conjunction with transmitted data, for execution of the application by the target subscriber. An Independent claim for an application signalisation device is also included.
