Voltage loss and capacitance measurement method for high or medium tension electrical cable by making a series of measurements at varying temperatures

A number of measurements are taken with the cable at different temperatures. The temperature of the cable is varied by passing inductive current flowing in conductor circuit through the cable. The cable is warmed to a constant temperature and the time change of the measurement signal is recorded. A series of measurements at different temperatures over time is made with the corresponding voltage drop and capacity alterations measured. The capacitance of the cable can be measured which then relates to voltage loss factor and this can be determined over a range of temperatures with a different series of curves obtained depending on the condition of the cable and its history.
