Method uses an arrangement with an actuator and sensor with which measurement data are produced. One or more actuators (2) and sensors (4,6) for producing measurement data cover region investigated with their characteristic curves. A check of adequate coverage of individual actuator curves with individual sensor curves is performed using a selection criterion. Measurement data fulfilling the criterion are fed into a system of equations that are solved using a normalizing method.
