Each roller (1) comprises layers of differing thermal conductivity, the value being high at the outer casing (17), and low in the core (18), which also has lower specific heat. Preferred features: Thermal conductivity of the casing is up to 100 Wm-1K-1. Core thermal conductivity is up to 15 Wm-1K-1. Roller casing thermal conductivity is 52 Wm-1K-1. The core thermal conductivity is 14 Wm-1K-1. The core is made as a filling of suitable thermal insulant. There is insulant between casing and core. In both end faces of the core, there are bores for the centering bolts of the guide chain. The surface thickness of the casing is 0.1-2 mm.
