The spheroids contain food (Lockfutter) and stones (Stein) so that the spheroids may sink when thrown into the water. The spheroids have a hole to enable them to be filled with food and stones and a lid is then glued on in order to cover this hole. The skin of each spheroid is made of porous baked dough, which softens and dissolves in water.
