The cleaning appliance has a cleaning-rail (2) parallel with the surface being cleaned. The rail has cleaning nozzles (11). A stationary appliance containing a pressurized medium has a flexible supply line conveying the cleaning medium from the stationary appliance to the cleaning rail. The hollow cleaning rail has outlets, and one inlet for the flexible supply line. The cleaning rail has guide rails (32) movably mounted on the surface being cleaned, and is driven by a manual or motorized chain drive (3).
