The invention relates to a barium-free radiopaque dental glass, a glass-containing dental glass-plastic composite and their use as a dental filling, wherein the dental glass has the following composition (in wt .-%): SiO¶2¶ 20-45, Al¶2¶O ¶3¶ 5-35, B¶2¶O¶3¶ 1-10, Na¶2¶O 1-10, K¶2¶O 0-8, Cs¶2¶O 0-8, sum of all alkali metals Oxides 1-15, CaO 0-8, SrO 0-27, ZnO 2-20, ZrO¶2¶ 2-10, P¶2¶O¶5¶ 0-10, La¶2¶O¶3¶ 0- 10, F 2-20, the total content of B¶2¶O¶3¶, ZnO, ZrO¶2¶ and La¶2¶O¶3¶ 20 wt .-%, and the refractive index n¶d¶ of Dental glass is in the range of 1.47 to 1.70.
