The conveyor has at least one endless conveyor belt(10) tensioned between a forward(18) and a rear(38) support roller. The support rollers are synchronously and translationally movable, and the conveyor belt with a forward movement of the support rollers is fixed by a brake(36) on the rear support roller, and with a return movement of the rollers is fixed stationary in relation to a baseplate(12) by means of a belt brake(42) acting upon the carrying run of the conveyor belt.
