The atomizer has a fluidic device which includes an outer pipe(13) concentrically enclosing an inner pipe(12), forming an annular outer channel(15) between them. The outer channel opens out in the region of the atomizing nozzle(32) so that fluid emerging from it under pressure interacts with the spray cone(33) from the nozzle and brings about a change of the spray angle. The fluid for the outer channel is fed by a pump(26) via a first control valve(24). An Independent claim is included for an application for the proposed atomizer which may be for atomizing liquid fuel in the combustion chamber of a gas turbine.
