A changeover device, for a current supply with two inputs (10,11) and one output (12), couples the output selectively to one of the inputs. At the inputs are independent current supply voltages. Each input is assigned a switch for connection to the output. Each input has an error detection circuit that outputs an error signal. The changeover device has a control circuit (17) which responds to the error signals and controls the switches so that the switch assigned to an error signal is opened. From all of the other switches, only one is closed when the error signal assigned to this switch shows an error-free state of the input.
