Use of natural or recombinant tissue plasminogen activator for prevention and treatment of postoperative corneal healing disorders

Tissue plasminogen activators are used for the prevention and treatment of postoperative corneal healing disorders (haze) following photorefractive keratectomy, thermal damage of the cornea or cauterization with acids or alkalis. Prevention and treatment of postoperative corneal healing disorders (haze) following photorefractive keratectomy comprises administration of a tissue plasminogen activator. Independent claims are also included for the prevention and treatment of postoperative corneal healing disorders (haze) following (a) thermal damage of the cornea and (b) cauterization with acid or alkali by administration of a tissue plasminogen activator.
