A measuring device (1) is provided for determining the instantaneous value of the rotation speed and/or torque of the actuator. A current controller regulates the motor current based on the deviation of the instantaneous value from a control value. The control circuit is connected to a position sensor (8). The motor current controller uses a pulse width modulation in the range greater than 20 kHz. A method of controlling an actuator is also claimed.
