The method involves meters converting data, representing repayment for quantities of thermal units, into a sequence of acoustic waves. These are transmitted into the pipelines and/or heating units, and are imposed onto the thermal fluid. A relay station picks up the sound waves, recovering the data from them. Independent claims are included for a device which operates with the sound transmitter and sound receiver using ultrasound frequencies.
