The engine has an observable pressure chamber with an injection nozzle for pressurised fuel coupled to a compressor and heater for conditioned compressed air. The test arrangement has a camera for chronological optical recording of an injection process and an illumination arrangement for the injection jet. A high-resolution camera (3) is coupled to a signal control unit (S) of a computer connected to a final stage controller (E) for the injection nozzle (2) for injection process detection. The camera images are digitised and fed into a measurement value acquisition unit (M1). An Independent claim is also included for a method of investigating internal combustion engine injection processes.
