To produce a cylindrical counter running surface, for radial shaft sealing rings at shaft ends with threaded drillings, exchangeable bolts (4) with a given tightening torque are screwed into the threaded drillings (5) at the end (1) of the shaft to hold a simulated flywheel (3) while there is precision working of the counter running surface (2). The temporary bolts give the counter running surface a polygon shape, which comes into the final installation with the original mounting bolts. After the precision working, the temporary bolts (4) are removed.
