Test circuit includes two resistors (R1,R2) in series, one of which is adjustable, and the middle of the two resistors is connected to the base of a transistor. The illumination device (br) is connected in the collector path of the transistor (T1). A capacitor (C) is arranged in parallel with the variable resistor (R2), which is temperature dependent. The temperature sensitive resistor (RTH) is temperature dependent to prevent thermal overload. Illumination device or LEDs are assigned to different respective lamps in the case of a trailer.
