The cooling device comprises stator (1) with sheet metal package and rotor (2) having groove/slots for a sheet metal package (3). The sheet metal package of the rotor is arranged on the rotor shaft (5), while the stator is fastened inside the housing and stored with two bearing shields (7,8). An end (14) of the open tube (12) is connected to cooling medium with supplier (20) with pipe shaped section (17) and line (18). The chamber (21) is part of the fixed housing of the electrical machine situated in hollow cylindrical projection (22). An Independent claim is also included for a method for cooling an electrical machine.
