Computer mouse with interface converter to enable mouse to be connected RS-232 or PS/2 connector

The mouse has a mode detection circuit (320) for detecting the connected connector type and a control circuit (220) for converting mouse data into RS-232 or PS/2 form depending on a logic state. The mode detection circuit contains three resistances (321-323) and provides a high level logic signal for a PS/2 connection and a low logic level signal for an RS-232 connection. The conversion is performed accordingly. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the method and for an interface converter.
