The transmission has a variator (2) with primary (3) and secondary plate sets (4). A hydraulically moved primary and a secondary cone plate (5,6) are charged via an electro-hydraulic pressure supply unit (1), for controlled regulation of a pressure. The pressure supply causes the oil volume flows to the cone plates to pass over a pressure pipe (8,9) with pressure regulator (10,11) and variable volume pressure chamber (12,13). The pressure chamber of the primary cone plate is connected to a primary chamber (20), and the pressure chamber of the secondary cone plate is connected to a secondary chamber (21) of a cylinder (14). A switched piston (15) between the chambers is positioned for oil pressure guidance from a low pressure side to a high pressure side of the variator during adjustment.
