The circuit triggering method is carried out including calculation of the integral of retardation of the vehicle in relation to the time. The method involves computing or the estimation of a curve or a segment length, and the alteration or bend course of the integral value, in a range of the integral value previously established, which is held or run through by the time integral, in relation to an expired time. The type of collision is determined by a comparison of the computed value of the segment lengths with a reference value.
