The brake wear adjustment device (1) has an adjustment shaft (3), contained within a brake saddle housing, with the accessible end of the adjustment shaft provided with a separate head part (4) for torque transfer to the adjustment shaft. The head part has a rupture point (5) which breaks upon the maximum torque being exceded.
