Coating of a hose with scintillator material is by liquid displacement of liquefied scintillator material from the hose interior except for a thin adhering layer. A hose is coated with scintillator material, for measuring radioactivity in liquids, by filling the hose with scintillator material, heating the hose to liquefy the scintillator material and passing liquid through the hose to displace the liquid scintillator material except for a thin layer adhering to the hose inner wall.
