A seal used in conjunction with low-loads has a circular central section with a first end separated from a second end by a curved thickened section. A first ring-shaped end-section extends from the first end of the central section. The first ring-shaped end section has a shank extending axially from the first end of the central section, and has a sealing surface at the outer axial end. In cross section, the first shank section is essentially straight and runs parallel to the seal ring main central axis. It has a second ring-shaped end section extending from the second end of the central section. The second ring-shaped section has a second shank section extending axially from the second end of the central section, and has a sealing surface at its outer axial end. In cross section the second shank section is essentially straight and parallel to the central main axis.
