A compressor for an air conditioning system in a vehicle has a swashplate pump (1) and a distribution system which ensures an even pressure output. The pump cylinders are supplied via a number of input feeds around the outside of the pump flange and the output is into a central chamber (77). The distribution system is bolted to the pump flange and has two coaxial chambers. It has an outer ring shaped chamber (65) which takes the output from the pump and a central chamber (67) which feeds the separate input chambers of the pump. The net effect is to even out pump fluctuations.
