A novel shrinkable film consists of a laminated film having at least one layer of gas barrier resin composition (I); has a specific mathematical relationship between the oxygen permeability and melting point; and has characteristic turbidity and shrinkage properties. A novel shrinkable film consists of a laminated film having at least one layer of gas barrier resin composition (I), where: (a) (ln (OTR/22.5) + 0.0698 (Tim - 157)) is less than -0.06 (where OTR is the oxygen permeability (cm3/m2.day.atm) of a 1 mu m thick film of (I) at 23 deg C and 0% relative humidity (R.H.); and T1m is the m.pt. of (I)); (b) the difference between the turbidity of a 30 mu m film of (I) after standing at 40 deg C and 90% R.H. for 24 hours and that after standing at 23 deg C and 48% R.H. for 48 hours is 20% or less; and (c) the average shrinkage ratio in its longitudinal and transverse directions, after immersion in an oil bath at 120 deg C for 10 seconds, is at least 45%. An Independent claim is included for the preparation of the film, by stretching a laminated film having at least one layer of (I) (having properties (a) and (b)) at least uniaxially, until shrinkage property (c) is achieved.
