The seat sliding element has a lower rail (1) for attachment to the vehicle's floor, an upper rail (2) for supporting a seating arrangement, whereby the upper rail slides on the lower rail, a nut element (32) fixed to the lower rail, a threaded shaft (31) mounted in the upper rail and engaged with the nut element, an electrical drive source, a flange (36) on the shaft, a gear housing (33) held by the upper rail for transferring drive rotations to the shaft to move the upper rail w.r.t. the lower rail and a blocking element (6) between the flange and gear housing, fixed to the upper rail and mounted on the shaft to enable shaft rotation.
