The medial side (12) of the upper (6) of a first shoe (2) is raised when compared to the lateral side (14). The lateral side of the upper (16) of the second shoe (4) is raised relative to its medial side. Each shoe consists of an upper, a sole (8,18), and a wedge-shaped section (20) between them and forming an integral part of the shoe. The difference in height is the same for both shoes, or is different, e.g. approx. 7mm for the first shoe, and 16mm for the second shoe. The wedge-shaped section has a hardness of approx. 70 Shore C.
