A combustion heater (21) is fitted in a vehicle to heat passenger areas or to assist an engine (10) with a cold start. Liquid fuel is warmed and vaporized before being transferred to an ignition chamber where a small amount of fuel is ignited. Heat generated in the ignition chamber causes a main combustion action in a combustion chamber fed by air and fuel.
