Liquid hydrogen high-temperature superconductor motor drive units, consisting of a reciprocating piston engine and HTSL magnetic flux motor, are known. The magnetic flux motor is used for urban, the internal combustion engine for interurban traffic. This invention relates to an almost zero-emission hybrid motor vehicle drive assembly in which the rotary piston internal combustion engine is operated with the same liquid hydrogen with which the HTSL magnetic flux motor is cooled. The HTSL magnetic flux motor is supplied with compressed magnetic flux from a HTSL rotary piston flow pump. Evaporating hydrogen is liquefied magneto-calorically with HTSL permanent magnet regenerator stages. Additional electrical storage devices such as liquid-hydrogen-cooled HTSL coils, HTSL hollow cylinders and fuel cells are proposed.
