A novel FeNiCo alloy has the compsn. (by wt.) 32-34% Ni, 3.5-6.5% Co, O-0.1% Mn, 0-0.1% Si, 0-0.1% Cr, 0.005-0.02% C, max. 0.001% S, 0.0001-0.0002% Ca, 0.0001-0.0002% Mg, balance Fe and impurities, with the proviso that Co + Ni 38.5%, Co + 0.5 x Ni 20%, Co + 5 x Ni = 165.5% and S 0.02 x Mn + 0.8 x Ca + 0.6 x Mg. Also claimed is a shadow mask consisting of a perforated sheet of the above alloy.
