A device for measuring a feature of the space between - segments of a piston in a cylinder

Sensor does not affect the thermodynamic or chemical state inside the combustion chamber and the annular space of the piston-cylinder. The device is designed to measure at least the value of a physical characteristic in the annular space (8) formed around the lateral cylindrical wall (7) of a piston (1) fitted inside a cylinder (2) which has at least a segment (5). The lateral wall of the piston (1) includes in its peripheral surface: - a slot and a radial transversal passage which has one output in the bottom of the slot and another inside the piston (1); - a sensor support (15) which has a part which is pressure located in the slot and has an exterior cylindrical surface in the exterior surface of the piston (1); - the sensor support (15) has in the zone of the transversal passage a radial channel in which the sensor is fixed. The sensitive part of the sensor is turned towards the annular space (8). The sensors electrical connections extend inside the piston (1).
