METHOD OF FORMING BY KNITTING LOOPS ON A SHEET, LOOP FABRIC REALIZED ACCORDING TO THIS METHOD, AND ITS USE

P The method is used to form by knitting loops (1) on a sheet (2), driven on a loom between a needle bar (3) and a passette bar (6). A cantilevered lancet bar (7) is adjacent either to the needles (3) or to the passettes (6). The loops (1) are made on one side (11, 16) of the sheet (2) by passing the knitting threads (8) over the lancets (7), and retained on the sheet (2) by passing the wires (8) on the other side (11, 16) of the sheet (2). At each knitting cycle, after the formation of a first loop (1) on a lancet (7), and before the formation of a second, the lancet (7) is moved transversely in one direction (9). In the following cycle, after the formation of the second loop, the lancet (7) is again displaced transversely in the opposite direction (10) before the formation of a third loop. The loops (1) of the fabric produced are straight. This fabric makes up the hook-and-loop fasteners used for diapers. /P
