Treatment procedure for cork product for making bottle stoppers, includes subjecting them to wet or dry steam under pressure for period of 5 secs to 5 mins
The procedure consists of placing the cork-based product in a sealed container and subjecting it to wet or dry steam at a pressure of between 2.105 and 30.105 Pa for a period of between 5 secs and 5 mins, and preferably between 30 secs and 1 min. The pressure in the container is then released, either slowly or rapidly, until it is at atmospheric pressure, and it is then opened so the treated product can be removed.
