The sensor includes a channel (48) through which the fluid to be analyzed passes, an optical wave guide (52) arranged over a part or the whole of the length of the passage (48), a biochemical layer on the wall of waveguide in contact with fluid, sensitive to components to be detected, fluid transport system, with electrodes, light beam emitter and optical coupler. The channel (48), wave guide (52) and the optical coupler (68,78) are formed in a slot in a substrate (60). A cover (56) covering the upper face of the substrate (60) closes the slot to form the channel (48). The fluid transport system electrodes are formed on the cover (56) or the substrate (60). Voltage on the electrodes generates an electrical field which displaces the fluid.
