The coil (13) occupies an annular compartment in a casing (14) press-fitted into a circular groove (21,22) concentrically machined in the top face of a base-plate (2), retained by screw threads (17,18) in a top recess in the valve block (3). The actuating core (9) slides in a non-magnetic liner (11) in the casing, its coaxial plunger (59) penetrating the valve body (5), inserted in a cylindrical recess (4) in the block. The body itself has a cylindrical recess communicating (34) with the high-pressure fluid source and containing the ball-valve (38) and a short spring-loaded (65) plunger (62). The valve comprises a ball (40), centralized by a guide (46) between opposing identical seats (41,42) having vertical passages incompletely occupied by the plunger tips (60,63), and lateral passages (44) provided by cruciform grooves on the opposing faces. With the coil de-energized, the ball blocks the upper seat passage, the inlet (34) communicates with a side passage (35), connected to the controlled device, via the lower seat (42), cruciform passages (44) and body passages (55,56). Energizing the coil opens the upper and closes the lower seat passages, allowing fluid to return from the device to the reservoir connection (36).
