The valve has a base-plate (2) screwed (17,18) into the valve block (3) and supporting the operating coil (13) and core, to which is fixed a plunger (59), passing through the valve body (5). A second plunger (62), spring-loaded (65), is aligned in opposition to the first. One or other, according as the coil is or is not energized, acts against the valve ball (40), located by a guide (46) between two identical opposing seats (41,42), each penetrated by a plunger tip (60,63). In the de-energized state, fluid can pass from the high-pressure inlet (34) to the controlled device via the lower seat and central and side passages (44,55,56,35), the upper seat being sealed by the ball. On energizing, the lower seat's central passage becomes sealed, and fluid can return from the device to the reservoir via the same lateral passages (35,56,55,44), the upper seat's central passage and further cross passages (32,36). A fuller description is given in the Abstract covering the sequentially numbered Application FR2784439 (q.v.), from which the present application differs only in that a variant is, additionally, described. In this, the seat blocks (41,42) themselves are shaped to provide the necessary centralization of the ball, without a separate guide-plate, while still providing lateral passages (44).
