The standby instrument system uses basic high security uncorrected static pressure, total pressure and inertial gyroscopic data and in addition has an electronic calculation capability which enables the aerodynamic angle of incidence to be derived from the basic data and used to correct the static pressure data. The Mach number may also be found and incorporated into the correction calculation.
