The device has a local static pressure sensor for measuring local static pressure (Psi), and a correction module (CORR) for determining corrected static pressure (Pcorr) based on the local static pressure and height information (alt) indicating height of an aircraft with respect to ground. The module includes a unit to apply a corrective factor of amplitude decreasing with respect to the height information, where the corrective factor is null when the height information is higher than a predetermined value. An independent claim is also included for a method for estimating static pressure of air mass resting on a ground.
