The vehicle seat (3) is rigidly fixed to base units (5), which are supported by primary and secondary (14 and 15) support rods, which are fixed to the floor. Primary and secondary forks (12 and 13), part of the base units, open vertically downwards to engage on the rods. A lock, consisting of a rigid rod (21), is fitted to slide within the seat base units, between a locked and unlocked position. The rod forms two locking legs (23 and 27), which lock under the support rods.
